Growth Promoters in Animal Production : Status and Prospects

چکیده
Sub-therapeutic levels of in-feed antibiotics remain the most widely used growth promoters in animal production. They are generally cost-effective and current Iicencing regulations appear to be adequate in ensuring efficacy and safety. Probiotics are also quite widely used and may have a niche when there is a particular need to avoid medicinal additives. However, there are doubts about the consistency of their effects.
